Travel is my favorite way to learn geography. If you can’t visit our 50 states in person, then God Bless the USA Exploring States & Territories is the Next Best Thing! We explore each state as if we are on a trip exploring the exciting spots.
God Bless the USA State Sorting Mats was created to go along with God Bless the USA Exploring States & Territories, but you can use it with any study of the 50 states to learn put it all together—capitals, abbreviations, flags, seals, stamps, and coins.
There are 55 sorting mats (our 50 states and 5 inhabited territories) to print on card stock and laminate if you prefer to make them last longer!
The state mats have the name, nickname, map of the state, and 6 blanks spaces for adding the state cards.
There are 6 kinds of cards:
- Name of State Capital
- State 2-Letter Abbreviation (from USPS)
- State Flag
- State Seal
- State Stamp (commemorative stamps from the USPS)
- State Quarter (commemorative coins from the US Mint)
Sorting Cards can be printed on card stock, cut out, and laminated to make them last longer.
Directions are given in the eBook to use the sorting mats and encouragement with sample questions are included to help students discuss the different state symbols.
