Learn Geography the Fun Way!
Travel is my favorite way to learn geography. If you can’t visit our 50 states in person, then God Bless the USA Exploring States & Territories is the Next Best Thing! We explore each state as if we are on a trip exploring the exciting spots.
God Bless the USA State Flags & Seals was created to go along with God Bless the USA Exploring States & Territories, but you can use it with any study of the 50 states to learn more about state flags and seals.
God Bless the USA State Flags & Seals is divided into six sections:
State Flags
The section on flags opens up with an easy-to-understand explanation of flags and why each state has a flag. From there, the book is divided up into the following sections: Southern states, Mid-Atlantic states, New England states, Southwest states, Western states, Pacific states, and Territories.
Matching state names to their flags is easy and fun for children and even teens. It gets students familiar with all the flags. If you are memorizing state flags, then these printable pages can be used over and over to help with the memorization process.
Each page is a separate worksheet with the state names numbered starting with 1.
There are little boxes next to the flag. Students put the number of the state in the little box.
These printables work with any study of the United States that includes flags. Or you may want to add flags to your USA states curriculum.
These printables were created to go with our God Bless the USA: Exploring States & Territories and other curricula in the God Bless the USA series.
State Seals
The section on seals opens up with an easy-to-understand explanation of seals and why each state has a seal. From there, the book is divided up into the following sections: Southern states, Mid-Atlantic states, New England states, Southwest states, Western states, Pacific states, and Territories.

You will notice that almost all the state seals have the state name on them, so you can black it out if you wish (for memorization) or you can leave it like I do because my goal is for them to become familiar with state seals and flags.
Family Crests, Flags, & Seals
Children learn when crests got started and families can make their own family crest, flag, and seal together!
State Flag/Seal/Map Games
There are two different kinds of games you can play with your children: a memory game and a card game.
Three cards are given for each state: flag, seal, map. You can print them on cardstock and laminate them to help them last longer.
Directions are given for each game.
Discussion questions are included to learn more about the states themselves from studying the flags and seals.
Answer Keys
The last two sections are answer keys for the flag worksheets and the state seals worksheets.
