You might live in Florida or maybe you visit Central Florida often. If so, you just have to visit Ponce Inlet, Florida.
Florida’s Tallest Lighthouse
Just south of Daytona Beach, Ponce Inlet is home to Florida’s tallest lighthouse. It’s 175 feet tall! Climbing to the top up the 203 steps is quite a workout, but the view is magnificent.
Named about Juan Ponce de Leon, the Spanish explorer who land nearby in 1513, Ponce Inlet Lighthouse & Museum gives you a taste of an old-fashioned Light Station with its tower (lighthouse), keeper’s house, living quarters, fuel house, boathouse, and fog-signalling building. Lots of great Florida history awaits at the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and Museum.
